Ready to learn alongside amazing people solve complex problems and leave a legacy Join our team.What youll doNiron is hiring a Nanoparticle Process Engineer to lead the scale up and qualification of iron nitride nanoparticle processes for production. The individual hired for this position will report to the Manager of Powder Engineering and will work closely with members of the Pilot Engineering Operations and R&D teams. Opportunities for professional advancement in a rapidly growing magnet manufacturing organization will be available.Primary Roles & Responsibilities:Work with external partners to design build and commission pilot & production-scale equipmentBuild and test prototypes to inform equipment designTrain mentor and help direct activities of pilot operators and techniciansManage documentation of SOPs and work instructionsDrive continuous improvement initiatives leveraging Six Sigma methodologies to enhance pilot production efficiency cost-effectiveness and overall process performance.Work with R&D team to transfer processes and process improvements from lab to pilot production facilityPerform all duties according to Nirons Safety ProgramExecution of these tasks will require day-to-day interactions with Niron Managers Engineers and Technicians and periodic reviews with Nirons Director of Engineering.What we are looking forStrong engineering background e.g. MS or PhD in materials science & engineering chemical engineering mechanical engineering electrical engineering nanotechnology or related field or relevant combination of academic/work experienceMinimum of 5 years of experience in materials-related industryStrong safety mindsetWorking knowledge of powder handling processes material drying magnet equipment process development process automation manufacturing processes & documentationExperience leading new materials manufacturing processes and products from R&D to production through stage gate approachFamiliarity with statistical methods DOE Six Sigma and Lean ManufacturingStrong interpersonal communication prioritization organizational skillsStrong reporting skills with ability to concisely communicate the meaning of dataAbility to travel domestically and internationally (less than 20%)Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment up to 25 lbs.Nice to haveExperience in one or more of the following: powder or slurry conveyance particle size reduction drying processes magnetic materials magnetic field generationSix Sigma Black BeltStrong statistical training in DOE and ANOVAExperience in leading teams projects and related methodologies to optimize delivery of results on time and on budgetProficiency in Microsoft Office JMP/Minitab SQL and/or data visualization softwareOur pay and benefitsSalary range: $120000 - $140000 annually depending on experience education and skillsEquity position in Niron via stock option grantComprehensive medical dental and vision insuranceMental healthcare401k plan with company matchPaid vacation sick time and holidaysExperience in a fun high-performing manufacturing environmentRequired Experience:Staff IC Key Skills Distributed Control Systems,Continuous Improvement,Process Improvement,Minitab,Root cause Analysis,Tooling,Statistical Software,Process Engineering,cGMP,Programmable Logic Controllers,Public Speaking,Manufacturing Employment Type : Full-Time Experience: years Vacancy: 1 Yearly Salary Salary: 120000 - 140000
