Third-party design partners are used (both locally and abroad) to augment our in-house team or to provide specific expertise. For the most part we build what we design often in our modern manufacturing factory right here in Western Pennsylvania.We design and develop a wide variety of world-class gas detection instruments sensors accessories and infrastructure for worker connectivity and remote management. Our designs include the latest mixed-signal embedded computing technology mechanical packaging miniaturization and compelling user-interfaces. We partner with a dedicated in-house application software team providing feature-rich web-based applications that help our customers keep their workers safe.A Sensor Technical Lead is a skilled professional who will lead the sensing domain ensuring materials hardware and algorithms delivery best-in-class results. This person will often serve as the Lead Scientist in the ISC Stage-Gate Product Development Process.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:This position is responsible for the sensor performance throughout the Product Development life-cycle. This position may occasionally be involved in Enhancement & Sustaining projects for ISC legacy products. This position is expected to work closely with various cross-functional groups to fully assure a properly designed product from concept to production.The duties may include but are not limited to:Lead design analysis and validation of sensing systemsLead analysis evaluation and validation of materials used to develop sensing systemsDevelop and refine algorithms for interpreting sensor outputAnalyze data to resolve discrepancies between expected and actual performanceCollaborate with cross functional team to optimize hardware and system integrationDevelop and maintain documentation for designs validation protocols and algorithm developmentMonitor advancements in sensing technologies and recommend updates to keep products best-in-classEnsure compliance with relevant agency approvals and safety standardsParticipate in technical reviews cross-functional meetings and strategy sessionsRequired Qualifications:Minimum PhD in Chemistry Chemical Engineering or related field from an accredited engineering college or universityMinimum 5 years experience in sensor chemistry ink formulation or material scienceDemonstrated expertise in sensor system design and signal processingDemonstrated experience with hardware/firmware integration for sensor systemsDemonstrated analytical skillsSelf-starter with the ability to work as part of a team while also meeting individual responsibilitiesPreferred Qualifications:Experience in environmental gas or particulate monitoringProficiency in JIRA and JAMAExperience using statistical analysis modelsExperience in project managementExperience in regulated industries (e.g. medical devices aerospace automotive)Soft Skills:Able to work effectively in a formal product development team environmentAble to exercise independent sound judgment and decision makingAble to commit to and work under deadlinesDemonstrated understanding of Stage-Gate development processEffective written and verbal communication skillsAbility to communicate technical concepts clearly Key Skills Administrative Skills,Facilities Management,Biotechnology,Creative Production,Design And Estimation,Architecture Employment Type : Full-Time Experience: years Vacancy: 1
