Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned):

Service, troubleshoot, and maintain a wide range of HVAC equipment, including packaged units, split systems, mini-split/VRF systems, water-source heat pumps, computer room systems, and water heaters. Pending experience boilers, pumps, chillers, cooling towers, and related controls.

Diagnose system issues, identify root causes, and perform repairs or replacements of defective equipment, components, wiring, refrigerant piping, low-voltage controls, and minor electrical systems.

Test electrical circuits and components for continuity and proper operation using appropriate electrical testing equipment.

Inspect and test HVAC systems to verify compliance with plans, specifications, applicable standards, and performance requirements.

Perform preventive and general maintenance procedures, such as cleaning, power-washing, vacuuming equipment, oiling parts, changing filters, and adjusting controls to manufacturer-recommended settings.

Communicate with customers and building users to discuss heating and cooling system concerns, isolate problems, explain findings, and confirm that malfunctions have been corrected.

Complete electronic service logs and reports for each service call before leaving the site, including faults, deficiencies, unusual occurrences, corrective actions, time, and materials used.

Follow all applicable company standards, policies, procedures, and safety requirements while maintaining a clean and organized work area.

Recommend, develop, and perform preventive and general maintenance procedures to support reliable system operation.

Contribute to team efforts by assisting other technicians, supporting training efforts, and helping maintain a high level of customer satisfaction.

Obtain and maintain required certifications for the position.

Frequently lift and/or move up to 30 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required. One to two years of prior HVAC technician experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, preferred.

HVAC schooling or technical training is a plus.
