Set Up Operator - Aurora, IL
Job Description
As a Set Up Operator, you will set up and operate a variety of industrial and fabrication equipment, perform die changeovers as required for production, and ensure inventory accuracy while monitoring raw material usage. You will communicate effectively with team members and supervisors, report on equipment issues, material shortages, or safety concerns promptly, and maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in compliance with company policies. Additional duties may be assigned as needed.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate industrial and fabrication equipment.
- Perform die changeovers for production needs.
- Ensure inventory accuracy and monitor raw material usage.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.
- Report on equipment issues, material shortages, or safety concerns promptly.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Complete additional duties as assigned.
Essential Skills
- Experience with CNC machine setup and troubleshooting.
- Previous experience running the Cincinnati.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Basic computer proficiency; experience with an ERP system preferred.
- Self-motivated team player with multitasking abilities.
- Ability to read engineering blueprints and bills of material.
- Skilled in operating fabrication and industrial equipment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to distinguish colors when required.
- Physically able to stand for up to 8 hours and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Adherence to all safety standards and proper use of PPE.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Ability to accurately use hand tools, micrometers, and calipers.
- Experience in the fabrication department.
- Union: Ironworkers Regional Shop Local 853 of the International Association of Bridge, Structural, Ornamental and Reinforcing Iron Workers.

Work Environment
Work in a heavy manufacturing environment with punch presses and brake presses throughout the facility. The environment is loud and fast-paced, with working hours from 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM, Monday through Friday. The dress code requires adherence to safety standards, including proper use of personal protective equipment.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Aurora, IL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.76/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
