Set-Up Technician II at Meraki7

Job Title: Set-Up Technician II (3rd Shift- 11:00 p.m. 7:30 a.m) Location : Mebane NC The Set-Up Technician II is responsible for performing accurate mold set-ups and start-ups for thermoforming and extrusion equipment to ensure optimal machine performance and product quality. This role troubleshoots processing issues monitors run conditions manages materials and supports basic production tasks such as packing and shrink-wrapping. Key Responsibilities Perform accurate mold set-ups start-ups and adjustments to maintain high machine utilization. Monitor part quality complete First Article inspections and track scrap levels. Troubleshoot mechanical and processing issues to maintain optimal run conditions. Manage materials and coordinate silo changes. Perform system transactions in Mattec AS400 or similar systems. Coordinate with other departments to meet production priorities. Maintain safe work practices proper documentation and clean work areas. Participate in basic production tasks including packing shrink-wrapping and assembly. Must-Have Qualifications 1 3 years of experience in plastics manufacturing (injection molding molds or thermoforming). Minimum 2 years of experience in mold set-ups and start-ups with strong machine operation skills. Experience with thermoforming or extrusion setup preferred. Working knowledge of molds tooling heating/cooling parameters and run settings. Understanding of plastics materials (ABS PET PP HDPE etc.). Ability to read and follow documented run parameters. Strong technical aptitude for processing and troubleshooting. Experience with production reporting systems such as Mattec or AS400. Basic computer literacy (Excel email documentation tools). High school diploma or equivalent required. Preferred Qualifications 1 year of direct thermoforming or extrusion setup experience. Familiarity with Lean/continuous improvement practices. Basic knowledge of SPC or other quality systems.
