Its mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination.BASIC PURPOSEThe purpose of this position is to case manage shelter residents requiring assistance the of The Salvation Army by performing the following duties.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESEstablish and maintain a safe and secure environment with an emphasis on non-violent communication and intervention.Secure shelter guests’ personal property at intake and at various times throughout the day in designated storage areasDirect shelter guests in cleaning and caring for the shelter areas for sleeping.Assisting with shelter guest intakes and appointments with shelter staffMonitor and assist shelter guests in laundry and day room areas.Clean and sanitize all sleeping areas, bathrooms, kitchen, and office areas.Assisting with kitchen duties and supervising the common area.Any other duties relating to your job as requested by the Supervisors and/or Officers.Other related duties as required. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND OTHER QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTSMust be a high school graduate or have an equivalent GED.Must be at least 21 years old.Some experience with disadvantaged populations, whether through work, volunteering, or being a member of a disadvantaged population required.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Ability to operate the telephone.Ability to lift to 25 lbs.Ability to operate a computer.Ability to process written, visual, and /or verbal information.Ability to operate basic office equipment and tools PC, Fax Machine, Telephone, Calculator, Copier, and Printer.Qualified individuals must be able to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation.
