Job DescriptionJob DescriptionShelter TherapistContract PositionAbout Us: The Coalition to Abolish Slavery and Trafficking (Cast) is a Los Angeles-based nonprofit organization that is working to put an end to human trafficking through comprehensive, lifesaving services to survivors and a platform to advocate for groundbreaking policies and legislation. Over the past two decades, Cast has supported thousands of survivors through every phase of their journey to freedom from counseling to legal resources, to housing, educational and leadership training, and mentorship. Through these programs, Cast has helped empower survivors to overcome their traumatic pasts and become leading voices in shaping policy and public awareness to ultimately put an end to the fastest growing criminal enterprise of the 21st century. The Coalition to Abolish Slavery and Trafficking (Cast) is seeking a part-time contract shelter therapist to provide in-person mental health crisis support and individual therapy to residents of our Hummingbird Haven Emergency Shelter Program and our Mariposa Haven Transitional Shelter Program.Scope of WorkConduct individual therapy with shelter residents that are interestedProvide crisis counseling to shelter residents as neededEngage with shelter residents to build rapport and trustProvide on-site clinical support in the shelter settingConduct occasional group therapy or workshopsConsult with the Shelter Program Manager and Shelter Staff as NeededReportingThe Contract Shelter Therapist will report to the Associate Director of Equitable Housing, Rebecca Amado-Sprigg.QualificationsLicensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) in the State of CA with an Active LicenseCompensationThe contracted shelter therapist will be compensated at the rate of $85/hour for client sessions and $75/hour for staff consultations.
