The initial salary offer is commensurate with education and related work experience. The Senior Warehouse Specialist, Shipping and Receiving/Surplus Property serves as the warehouse lead person coordinating daily routine activities within the department. This position reports directly to the department manager and is responsible for prioritizing warehouse activities to ensure daily goals are met. The Senior Warehouse Specialist actively engages and participates in all warehouse activities and functions and also assigns tasks to other department employees. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Follow all department policies and procedures; foster a safe work environmentMaintain neat and orderly warehouse, keep area free of debrisAct as lead person and prioritize the work of othersEngage in day-to-day warehouse operations; coordinate warehouse activities and ensure goals are met and completed accurately and timelyReceive freight and shipments from various carriers - verify condition, count, note damages/shortages and sign for shipments following department proceduresScan and enter all shipments upon arrival in the SCLogic Intra package tracking systemProcess packages in a timely manner and route to end users; stage shipments for delivery and enter accurate package locationResearch packages that arrive without proper documentation and determine end user/ delivery locationMake deliveries to campus locations as well as all satellite college locationsOperate forklift and other warehouse handling equipment following established policies, procedures, and guidelinesPrepare packages and freight for shipment utilizing industry accepted methodsPrepare shipping documents and create shipping labels utilizing established shipping accountsCommunicate effectively with other departments to schedule deliveries and address concernsCommunicate effectively with delivery driversReceive surplus property from the Maintenance department and properly categorize, store, and prepare for re-distribution or sale following established proceduresAssist with online and live public auctions/salesAssist "customers" with curbside pickupsDeliver copier/printer paper and suppliesKeep accurate recordsAdditional Duties & Responsibilities Operate forklift and off-road utility vehicles in and around campusOperate motor vehicles on public roads and highwaysInform manager when changes and updates are needed in the SCLogic Intra package tracking systemPerform other duties as assignedMinimum Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.)Three (3)years of related work experience; preferably in shipping& receiving/warehouse operationsOne (1) year forklift operator experience; ability to be forklift certified operatorMust have a valid driver's license and clear driving recordMust have demonstrated record-keeping skills, as well as good interpersonal skillsKnowledge of modern office practices, procedures, and equipment, including PCs and their operationsMust be able to establish and maintain cooperative working relationshipsMust be able to lift, carry, pull, and push objects or loads of fifty (50) pounds or moreMust be able to stand for extended periods of timeMust be able to work from heightsMust be able to ascend and descend a ladderMust be able to perform work with speed and accuracy Lee College does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex (including pregnancy, gender identity and sexual orientation), national origin, age, disability, veteran status, genetic information or any other basis protected by law.
