Job DescriptionJob DescriptionDescription: The Shop Attendant supports the daily operations of a European automotive dealership and service facility. This role assists technicians, keeps the shop clean and organized, helps with vehicle movement, performs basic detailing, and supports the overall customer experience. The Shop Attendant plays a critical role in maintaining a safe, efficient, and professional work environment. Requirements:SafetyWear safety glasses at all times inside the shop. Wear approved work boots or slip-resistant safety footwear. Use gloves when handling chemicals, waste, or cleaning products. Follow all dealership safety procedures and OSHA requirements. Move vehicles at low speeds, following shop and lot directional flow. Check surroundings before starting or moving any vehicle. Never use lifts, alignment racks, or high-risk equipment unless trained and authorized. Verify vehicles are in parks with the parking brake engaged when exiting. Handle cleaning agents, solvents, and detailing chemicals according to labels and SDS sheets. Use proper ventilation when working with sprays or chemicals. Dispose of used rags, chemicals, and waste in approved containers. Keep walkways, bays, and parking areas free of debris, oil spills, and trip hazards. Immediately clean up spills using absorbents and follow shop procedures. Report malfunctioning tools, broken equipment, or unsafe conditions right away. TasksMaintain cleanliness and organization of service bays, shop floors, and common areas. Dispose of trash, used parts, and shop materials according to company procedures. Restock supplies such as chemicals, rags, oil absorbents, and shop consumables. Assist technicians by retrieving tools, parts, or equipment as needed. Help with basic shop tasks (sweeping, mopping, organizing tools, etc.). Move vehicles safely around the shop, lot, and service drive. Park, align, and stage customer and inventory vehicles in designated areas. Perform basic detailing and interior cleaning (vacuuming, wiping surfaces, windows, etc.). Conduct visual inspections to identify exterior damage or vehicle concerns. Assist with preparing vehicles before and after service appointments. Maintain a professional and helpful demeanor when interacting with customers. Support service advisors and technicians with vehicle flow and coordination. Report any damaged vehicles, safety hazards, or unusual findings immediately. QualificationsValid driver’s license with a clean driving record (required). Ability to drive manual and automatic transmissions is preferred. Prior experience in automotive, detailing, or shop support is a plus but not required. Strong time management and willingness to learn. Ability to work safely and follow instructions. Physical RequirementsAbility to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, bend, kneel, and work in tight spaces.Must be able to work indoors and outdoors depending on tasks Bend, twist, kneel, climb, and stand for long periods.
