We are seeking a seasoned Permanent Site Superintendent-Grading Commercial Construction to join our dynamic team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a professional with a solid background in commercial construction site work. The successful candidate will possess a keen eye for detail, exceptional leadership skills, and a demonstrated ability to manage complex construction projects from start to finish. This role requires a minimum of 5+ years of experience in the construction industry, specifically in grading commercial construction.
Responsibilities
As a Permanent Site Superintendent-Grading Commercial Construction, your primary responsibilities will include:
1. Overseeing all grading and site work activities on the construction site, ensuring all work is performed in accordance with design, budget, and schedule.
2. Coordinating and supervising all construction activities, including subcontractors, consultants, and other team members.
3. Directing all field personnel to achieve completion of the project on schedule, within budget, and with quality workmanship that conforms to original plans and specifications.
4. Understanding and implementing the project's safety program and ensuring site safety compliance.
5. Preparing, scheduling, coordinating, and monitoring the assigned engineering projects, and conducting regular inspections to ensure compliance with applicable codes and regulations.
6. Resolving any issues that may arise and providing solutions that are technically sound and cost-effective.
7. Maintaining daily log (written) of activities on the job site and ensuring effective communication and coordination on assigned projects between all parties.
8. Conducting project meetings with internal and external parties to monitor and support the project's ongoing progression.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate for the Permanent Site Superintendent-Grading Commercial Construction role should possess the following qualifications:
1. A minimum of 5+ years of experience in the construction industry, specifically in grading commercial construction.
2. Proven experience as a site superintendent or similar role in commercial construction projects.
3. Extensive knowledge of construction procedures, equipment, and OSHA guidelines.
4. Strong leadership and management skills, with a demonstrated ability to lead a diverse team of professionals and tradespeople.
5. Excellent problem-solving abilities, with a knack for making sound decisions under pressure.
6. Superior communication and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with staff, stakeholders, and clients.
7. Proficient in using construction management software and standard office software such as MS Office.
8. A degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field is preferred.
9. Current certification in first aid, CPR, and construction safety programs is a plus.
10. Ability to read and understand construction plans and specifications.
11. Must be willing to travel or relocate as required.
