Job DescriptionJob DescriptionJOB DESCRIPTION POSITION: Vehicle Maintenance MechanicFLSA: Non ExemptREPORTS TO: Vehicle Maintenance Supervisor SUMMARY: Responsible for daily vehicle maintenance repairs. Familiarity with gasoline and diesel engines, knowledge of hydraulic motors and systems, electrical circuitry and welding skills is a requirement. Must be able to stand on concrete floors for extended periods of time and able to lift 80 pounds when necessary. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIESMonitor spare parts inventory and purchase needed parts as necessary.Maintain adequate levels of fuel and lubricants for equipment operation.Monitor EPA guidelines as they relate to fuel storage facilities and petroleum distillates disposal procedures.Monitor supply pricing to ensure purchases are made at “best available” level and deal with vendors that best service Wintergreen.Administers preventive maintenance program on vehicles/equipment and makes decisions on timing of major repairs.Ensures operational readiness of vehicles/equipment.Must follow policies and procedures outlined in the Wintergreen Handbook.Must be able to take on additional tasks and assignments assigned by the manager.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:3-5 years of lift maintenance experience requiredAbility to “get the job done” as well as guide subordinates through various tasks.Familiarity with varied types of engines both gas and diesel.Knowledge of hydraulic motors and systems.Electrical circuitry knowledge.Welding and cutting ability.Organizational ability to maintain productive work level in large equipment maintenance facility.PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT:Applicants must be able to lift up to 80 pounds.Withstand working in cold weather.Must be able to walk outside in winter conditionsBENEFITS OF WORKING AT WINTERGREEN:Wintergreen Resort is a place for mountain lovers, adventure seekers and outdoor explorers.
