Job Title: Sleep TechnologistDepartment: Sleep Disorders Center Location: 10 Hagen Drive, Suite 200, Rochester, NY 14625 Hours Per Week: 36Schedule: Nights,3x12's; 630 pm to 7 amSUMMARY:As a Sleep Technologist, your knowledge, skills, and strong focus on patient care contribute to the completion of sleep tests within our Sleep Centers. RESPONSIBILITIES:Patient Care. Review patient histories; Educate and orient patients on procedure; Perform sleep studies of; maintain accountability for timely and proper service to patients; provide excellent patient service General Maintenance. Clean, restock and prepare rooms on a daily basisDocumentation. Assist with scoring portable monitoring recordings according to AASM scoring parameters; identify artifact, inadequate signals and study failures and generate an accurate report REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Successful completion of an Associate's degree in Polysomnography Technology or Respiratory Therapy. Or, successful completion of a certificate program in Respiratory Therapy Technology. Maintain current CPR or BLS certification. NYS Authorization as a Polysomnographic Technologist, Respiratory Therapist, or Respiratory Therapy Technician Polysomnography Technicians: Must pass the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists exam and obtain the Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) credential within 2 years of initial NYS registration. RT/RTTs: Must pass the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) Certified Respiratory Therapist examination (CRT) and the Registry Examination (RRT) and obtain credentials within 1 year of the initial NYS registration. Employees hired prior to 2013 must obtain Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) credential no later than November 1, 2018. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:None.EDUCATION:LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS: PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting. It may be modified in the future and eligible for additional pay components.
