They assist patients who have disabilities or experienced traumatic events that left them with speech voice or swallowing impairments.Job DescriptionEvaluate and diagnose speech language communication or swallowing difficulties.Develop and implement effective treatment programs.Provide counseling to patients and patients families about results of testing and recommended treatment options.Establish patient understanding expectations and goals for treatment.Create accurate documentation and reporting for all patient visits.Delegate duties to support personnel as appropriate.Maintain communication with staff and outside agencies per state guidelines.Refer patients to medical specialists in dentistry psychology or other related fieldsLicense or Certification:Must be in possession of current SLPA certificate on or before the first day of employment.CPR certification TB skin test Auto Insurance and Driver LicenseEducation Training and Experience:Minimum requirement: Associate degree in and/or graduation from a Speech-Language Pathology assistant certificate program.Experience is preferred but not required.
