Job DescriptionThe Small Business Banker II services a wide variety of business loans including commercial and industrial loans, SBA, and commercial real estate while working as part of a team with branches, credit, and product partners. This position develops meaningful relationships and engages in cross- selling credit and noncredit products as appropriate.Essential Functions:Develop new and expanding existing small business relationshipsConsistently achieve 8-12% year over year net balance sheet growth on an annual basis depending upon market conditions and regional budget assignmentDevelop partnerships with Branch Managers, Treasury Management Advisors, Merchant Services and Trust and Investment Advisors to promote additional business opportunities and profitability for NorthwestCall on potential or existing customers to develop new business as well as retain existing business with companies with revenues generally less than $10 millionEngages in joint-calling activity with branch partners at a regular frequencyWorks to promote cross-sell behaviors personally and within assigned branch territoryInterview applicants to develop information concerning their financial needs and repayment ability in order to assess acceptable level of riskFollow current loans to ensure complete compliance with termsProactively keep abreast of industry trends25% of calls prospecting new clients and relationshipsAchieve and exceed budget goals as assigned by RegionActively participate in community affairsEncourage clients to maintain their personal banking at NorthwestPrepare electronic loan applications for submission to CreditMake loan presentations and recommendations to Credit, team leaders and senior line of business managers as requiredPartner with credit to ensure annual reviews and line of credit renewals are completed on a timely basisEnsure noncredit clients have appropriate treasury management, merchant services and other related commercial servicesEnsure risk ratings are appropriate based on your knowledge of the clientAs required, collect on delinquent accountsAnalyze financial statements and related credit material to assess risk on a continuous basisComplete loan closings as requiredProvide credit information and references for internal review as requestedEnsure all credit files include current financial statements, agency reports, etc.Participate in continued sales and credit trainingComplete all required Compliance training in a timely basisEnsure compliance with all Regulatory requirementsEnsure compliance with Northwest's policies and procedures, and Federal/State regulationsQualifications:Bachelor's Degree Business, Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Marketing preferred5 - 6 years Business Banking/Branch Management experience with intensive Business Focus requiredKnowledge of all cash management servicesKnowledge of credit, SBA (Express, SBA 7a, and SBA 504), and noncredit services and productsKnowledge of merchant services#LI-MM1Northwest is an equal opportunity employer.
