JOB DESCRIPTION

POSITION OVERVIEW

Sid Jacobson JCC is seeking creative and strategic freelance social media professionals to support a wide range of organizational marketing, communications, and engagement initiatives across multiple departments, audiences, and platforms.

These role(s) may support both day-to-day social media content needs and larger campaign-based initiatives. Projects may range from individual content assignments to comprehensive social campaigns tied to events, programs, fundraising efforts, community engagement, and organizational storytelling.

The ideal candidate possesses strong writing and visual storytelling skills, understands evolving social media trends and platform best practices, and can create content that is engaging, mission-aligned, and audience-focused. Candidates should be collaborative, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develops, writes, edits, schedules, and publishes social media content across various platforms, including Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and other emerging channels as needed

  • Creates engaging and platform-appropriate copy, captions, graphics, reels, stories, and other digital content that align with organizational voice and brand standards

  • Supports social media coverage for programs, events, campaigns, community initiatives, and organizational announcements

  • Collaborates with the marketing team to support broader campaign goals, messaging strategies, and audience engagement initiatives

  • Assists in developing and executing social media campaigns from concept through launch and post-campaign reporting

  • Monitors social media trends, platform updates, audience behavior, and best practices to inform content strategy and engagement opportunities

  • Engages with online audiences in a timely, professional, and brand-aligned manner when applicable

  • Captures photo/video content as needed for real-time or future social media use

  • Reviews content for accuracy, consistency, quality, and alignment with organizational messaging and branding

  • Tracks and reports on social media performance metrics and provides recommendations for optimization and growth

  • Availability for daytime, evening, and weekend assignments, including live event coverage and time-sensitive content needs, is required

    Hourly Rate: $30-50/hr, dependent on experience, project scope, and skill level



QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proven experience managing social media content and campaigns across multiple platforms

  • Strong writing, editing, communication, and visual storytelling skills

  • Understanding of platform-specific trends, analytics, engagement strategies, and content best practices

  • Experience using social media management and scheduling tools preferred

  • Basic graphic design and/or video editing skills strongly preferred

  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with internal teams and stakeholders

  • Experience working with nonprofit, educational, cultural, healthcare, or mission-driven organizations is a plus



Compensation details: 30-50 Hourly Wage
