Embracescultural humility and understands how institutional systems policies andprocedures may contribute to inequitable treatment and disparity in services.THE VACANCIESWhile the immediate vacancy for this positionisin Children & FamilyServicesthe eligible list resulting from this recruitment and selectionprocess may be utilized to fill future vacancies in other divisions within theSocial Services Agency.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSEither IThe equivalent of four years of full-time experience as a Social WorkSupervisor Supervising Eligibility Technician or similar first-linesupervisory classification in the Social Services Agency (possession of abachelors degree in a social service field may be substituted for two years ofthe required experience; a masters degree in a relevant field for threeyears).Or IIThe equivalent of two years of full-time experience as an AdministrativeSpecialist or equal or higher-level administrative class in the Alameda Countyclassified service. (Non-classified includes District Attorneys OfficeHospital Authority and the Consolidated Courts.)Or IIIThe equivalent of six years of full-time experience at least at the first-linesupervisory level in a human/social services agency (possession of a bachelorsdegree in a social service field may be substituted for three years of therequired experience; a masters degree in a relevant field for four years).License: Most positions require possession of a valid California Motor VehicleOperators license.NOTE: The Civil Service Commission may modify the above Minimum Qualificationsin the announcement of an examination.KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLSThe most suitably qualified candidates willpossess the following competencies:Knowledge of: Organization programs and functions of the various departments of theAlameda County Social Services Agency. Federal State and local laws codes and regulations pertinent to socialservices economic opportunity and employment program. Principles of supervision training and evaluation. Community resource development. Social work principles and casework techniques. Psychological socioeconomic and the other factors that may affect client andfamily functioning. Flexibility.Selective Certification Criteria:When assigned to a Childrens Protective Services Division incumbents will berequired to possess a masters degree in Social Welfare (MSW) from anaccredited school of social work which included a supervised field placementproviding social casework and counseling services to individuals and families;or possess a masters degree from an accredited college or university inCounseling or Clinical Psychology with a specialization in Marriage Familyand Child Counseling (MFCC) based on a two-year program (72 quarter or 56semester units) which included a supervised field placement as part of thecourse curriculum; or possess an MFCC license.Special Requirement: When assigned to the Children and Family ServicesDepartment incumbents will be required to be on-call for the EmergencyResponse Unit on a rotating basis. This will require the incumbent to beavailable on evenings and weekends during their assigned rotation.EXAMINATION COMPONENTSTHE EXAMINATION WILL CONSIST OF THE FOLLOWINGSTEPS:1.A review of the applicants application toverify possession of minimum requirements. Those candidates who possess theminimum requirements for the class will move on to the next step in theexamination process.2.An oral interview which will be weighted as100% of the candidates final examination score.
