Software Engineer (Associate Mid-Level or Senior-Level)-4Company:The Boeing CompanyThe Boeing Company is currently seeking a Software Engineer to support our Loadable Software Engineering team located in Seattle or Everett Washington. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) Software Engineering organization.The ideal candidate is passionate about creating and maintaining a secure operating environment across various cloud service providers. By leveraging automation technologies you will help build and sustain infrastructure computing systems and applications through a robust DevSecOps pipeline. If youre ready to make a significant impact in support of BCA Airplane Program initiatives we want you on our team!Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including Experienced and Senior Level Software Engineers.Position Responsibilities:Design implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate the build test and deployment processes for COTS and custom-built applicationsIntegrate DevSecOps tools to automate security checks and vulnerability assessments within the CI/CD pipelineCollaborate with cross-functional teams including development security operations and product teams to ensure security is embedded in all phases of the application lifecycleProvide technical leadership and mentorship to junior Software Developers and DevSecOps Engineers promoting best practices in automation security and cloud operationsEnhance operational security by implementing robust monitoring logging and alerting systemsParticipate in Agile SAFE ceremonies providing input on security and automation best practicesStrong understanding of networking and network security conceptsTroubleshoot and resolve issues related to CI/CD processes security tools and operational securityProvide training and guidance to teams on CI/CD DevSecOps and operational security best practicesEnsure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements through automated checks and controlsDocument and maintain CI/CD workflows security protocols and operational proceduresBasic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):5 years of experience with Development Operations (DevOps)5 years of experience with GitLab DevOps tools (ADO and/or AWS) and CI/CD pipelines automation and deployment5 years of experience with cloud-platform technologies (AWS Azure GCP)5 years of experience with networking basics (VPCs subnets routing load balancers DNS etc.)Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology) chemistry physics mathematics data science or computer science.Level 3: 3 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experienceLevel 4: 5 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experienceCurrent certifications such as Azure Certified DevOps Engineer CISSP or Docker Certified AssociateExperience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (e.g. Terraform CloudFormation)Experience with containerization and cloud orchestration tools (Tanzu OpenShift Kubernetes Docker)Experience implementing monitoring logging and alerting (e.g. Prometheus Grafana ELK/EFK Splunk etc.)Experience in integrating security tools like SAST DAST and vulnerability scanners into CI/CD pipelinesExperience with Infrastructure as code (e.g. Terraform) and automation tools (e.g. Puppet Ansible Chef etc.)Experience with security frameworks and standards (e.g. NIST 800-53)Experience with network security and intrusion detection/prevention systemsExperience with serverless architectures and associated security challengesExperience with scripting programming languages such as Python Bash or similarDrug Free Workplace:Boeing is a Drug Free Workplace (DFW) where post offer applicants and employees are subject to testing for marijuana cocaine opioids amphetamines PCP and alcohol when criteria is met as outlined in our policies.Union:This is a union-represented position.CodeVue Coding Challenge:To be considered for this position you will be required to complete a technical assessment as part of the selection process.
