From developing creative new Lens features for Snapchat to supporting the continuous growth and evolution of Lens Studio (our platform for an ever-increasing community of AR creators) to designing the cutting-edge computer vision and machine learning technology that makes face transformation Lenses possible our Augmented Reality team is working hard on their mission to bring AR to more people places and moments every day.Were looking for a 3D Rendering Engineer to join our Augmented Reality team in Santa Monica!What youll do:Implement the engine and rendering features used across Lenses Games Spectacles Jumbotrons Bitmoji and many other surfacesCollaborate with rendering and core engineers to incorporate new algorithms into the Lens engineWork on the 3D engine and advanced algorithms utilizing the cutting edge capabilities of modern mobile GPUsResearch advanced rendering effects to adopt for mobile GPUs and perform as efficiently as possibleDevelop new rendering materials and techniques for the 3D artist team to achieve the highest quality visuals on the mobile marketOptimize the renderer for maximum performance by leveraging your deep knowledge of rendering techniques GPU hardware and profilersMake an impact on the future of AR rendering technology - the skys the limitKnowledge Skills & Abilities:Strong 3D math and trigonometry skillsStrong computer science fundamentals and C coding skillsProven knowledge of software and hardware rendering pipeline (Mobile Console or PC)Excellent verbal and written communication skills with high attention to detailAbility to prioritize tasks and work independentlyMinimum Qualifications:BS in a technical field such as computer science or equivalent years of experience2 years of post-Bachelors software development experience; or Masters degree in a technical field 1 year of post-grad software development experience; or PhD in a relevant technical fieldIndustry C development experiencePreferred Qualifications:Experience with OpenGL Metal Vulkan or DirectX APIsExperience with GLSL MSL HLSL Compute shadersExperience in optimization for mobile/console GPUsExperience in creating rendering enginesExperience in creating unique/custom graphics algorithms and techniquesExperience with PBRPersonal 3D rendering related projectsIf you have a disability or special need that requires accommodation please dont be shy and provide us some information.Default Together Policy at Snap: At Snap Inc. we believe that being together in person helps us build our culture faster reinforce our values and serve our community customers and partners better through dynamic collaboration. The successful candidates starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills experience qualifications work location and market conditions. The starting pay may be negotiable within the salary range for the position. These pay zones may be modified in the future.Zone A (CA WA NYC):The base salary range for this position is $157000-$235000 annually.Zone B: The base salary range for this position is $149000-$223000 annually.Zone C:The base salary range for this position is $133000-$200000 annually.This position is eligible for equity in the form of RSUs.
