Software Engineer - Full Stack Development - 11 yrs of Experience (Limited Telework) - TS/SCI w/Poly clearance is requiredHalogen Engineering is looking for a Senior Software engineer who will be responsible for providing application development and support to an eco-system of big data apps in a collaborative environment. Some of the roles and responsibilities include:Interacts with customers PMs and other development teams to gather analyze and define requirements to determine the most effective software and web technologies to satisfy the clients needsDevelops maintains supports and enhances complex and diverse software systems (e.g. processing-intensive analytics novel algorithm development manipulation of extremely large data sets real-time systems and business management information systems) based upon documented requirementsProvides specific input to the software components of system design to include hardware/software trade-offs software reuse and requirements analysis from system level to individual software componentsUtilizes software engineering and design methodologies appropriate to the development integration and enterprise-level production environmentDesigns creates tests and maintains software and web-based applications and content solutions to satisfy customer requirementsFollows a formal design process using formal specifications data flow diagrams and adheres to laws standards and established guidelines for development and delivery of software and web applicationsDevelops and maintains software and web development technical documentation to assist with software and web application maintenance and upgradesProvides software process management and configuration management throughout the software / web development life cycle.Analyzes and troubleshoots extremely complex software problems and provides solutions using the latest technologies.Location: Reston VATravel Required: No Shift: Day Remote Type: Limited Telework Tasking dependent with approvalSecurity Clearance: Current TS/SCI Polygraph: Required Salary Range The projected compensation range for this position is $213 to $256 (annualized USD). Salary is determined by various factors including but not limited to location the individuals particular combination of education knowledge skills competencies and experience as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. RequirementsStrong proficiency in building scalable component-based front-end applications using React.Experience developing typed React applications for improved maintainability and scalability utilizing TypescriptFamiliarity with both relational (PostgreSQL) and NoSQL/document-based databases (Elasticsearch MongoDB).Knowledge of Git workflows automated testing and deployment pipelines.Desired SkillsExperience implementing responsive utility-first styling in React applications using Tailwind CSSHands-on experience writing end-to-end tests for React applications with Cypress.Experience working in Scrum teams using continuous integration and delivery tools.Exposure to or interest in agentic AI systems including autonomous workflows decision-making agents or AI-driven orchestration frameworks.Qualifications Eleven (11) years experience and a Bachelors degree as a Software Engineer in programs and contracts of similar scope type and complexity is required. Bachelors degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university is required.Nine (9) years experience and a Masters degree as a Software Engineer in programs and contracts of similar scope type and complexity is requiredThirteen (13) years of Software Engineer experience may be substituted for a bachelors degree.
