DescriptionWe have an exciting and rewarding opportunity for you to take your software engineering career to the next level.As a Software Engineer III - React Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within Commercial and Investment Banking you serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure stable and scalable way. You are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firms business objectives.In particular you will work on critical solutions using React Spring Boot and AWS supporting the firms objectives. Your role will also involve building web applications integrating with microservices and contributing to the evolution of our front-end architecture.Job responsibilitiesDesign develop and troubleshoot scalable React-based applications with a focus on performance and maintainability.Write secure high-quality production code using JavaScript/TypeScript and modern React features (e.g. hooks context state management).Collaborate closely with backend engineers (Spring Boot AWS) to deliver seamless end-to-end solutions.Develop consume and maintain RESTful and GraphQL APIs ensuring robust integration between front-end and microservices.Contribute to the design and implementation of micro front ends within a microservices architecture (e.g. using Module Federation Single-SPA).Implement and maintain front-end testing using tools such as Jest React Testing Library and Cypress and utilize modern front-end build tools and deployment pipelines (e.g. Webpack Babel Vite Jenkins GitHub Actions).Produces architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while being accountable for ensuring design constraints are met by software code developmentGathers analyzes synthesizes and develops visualizations and reporting from large diverse data sets in service of continuous improvement of software applications and systemsProactively identifies hidden problems and patterns in data and uses these insights to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architectureContributes to software engineering communities of practice and events that explore new and emerging technologiesAdds to team culture of diversity opportunity inclusion and respectRequired qualifications capabilities and skillsFormal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3 years applied experienceHands-on practical experience in system design application development testing and operational stabilityProficient in coding in one or more languages; JavaScript/TypeScript and building scaleable front-end applicationsStrong understanding of modern React features (hooks context state management) and front-end architectureExperience with micro front ends and microservices architectures and experience with front-end testing frameworks (Jest React Testing Library Cypress)Solid understanding of APIs (RESTful GraphQL) and integration with backend servicesFamiliarity with Spring Boot and AWS cloud servicesExperience in developing debugging and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languagesOverall knowledge of the Software Development Life CycleSolid understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD Application Resiliency and SecurityDemonstrated knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g. cloud artificial intelligence machine learning mobile etc.)Preferred qualifications capabilities and skillsExperience migrating applications from Angular to React.Exposure to cloud technologies especially AWS.Familiarity with modern front-end build tools and deployment pipelines.Understanding of secure coding practices and application resiliency.Excellent communication and collaboration skills.Experience mentoring junior engineers.
