Encourages optimum design within customer specifications, quality standards, schedule and funding limitationsAssisting in formulating engineering project requirements to meet the customer's needs and deadlinesDeveloping detailed implementation plans to execute and meet project requirementsDetermining timelines for completing engineering projects, and reporting to the Engineering & Integration Manager, Supervisor, and/or the Lead Software Engineer on the project's statusWorking closely with project management, hardware engineering, communications engineering, configuration management, quality assurance and operations support to ensure proper integration of software engineering with the other disciplines involved in the project.Designing, implementing, testing, and deploying software projectsProviding technical guidance, mentoring, direction and assistance to other engineering team membersReviewing modifications to system software to ensure compatibility with existing hardware and softwareAbility to solicit and document detailed product requirements; writes technical data packages in support of software development or modificationsAttending and facilitates meetings as requiredPerforming other related duties as requiredFILLING THIS POSITION IS CONTINGENT UPON FUNDING #LI-DG1RequirementsBS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or an equivalent scientific or technical discipline from an accredited academic institution or a combination of formal education and experience equivalent to a four-year college degreeMinimum of ten years work experience as a software developerAt least seven years of experience with computer programming using C, C++ and C#.
