That means you have an unprecedented opportunity to put the global economy within everyone's reach while doing the most important work of your career.What you’ll doResponsibilitiesDesign, build, and maintain APIs, services, and systems across Stripes engineering teams using Ruby, Java, and ScalaBuild, develop, test and deploy software infrastructureDesign and develop software systems using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcome and consequences of designDevelop and direct software system testing and validation procedures, programming, and documentationDebug production issues across services and multiple levels of the stackAnalyze user needs and software requirements to determine the feasibility of design within time and cost constraintsWork with engineers across the company to build new features at large-scaleBuild new systems to securely store and reliably modify production systemsImprove engineering standards, tooling, and processesWho you areWe're looking for someone who meets the minimum requirements to be considered for the role. The preferred qualifications are a bonus, not a requirement.Minimum requirementsBachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science or related field plus 2 years of experience in software development.Position also requires the following:2 years of experience working with Ruby, Java, Scala, or Go2 years of experience implementing industry standard design patterns2 years of experience building full-stack or backend applications at scale2 years of experience designing, building, and maintaining APIs, services, and distributed systems at scale2 years of experience writing unit tests and performing manual testing of complex software changesSalary: $190,400 - $285,600/yr.This salary range represents the base salary range for the role and any sales commissions/sales bonuses targets, if applicable, would be in addition to the base salary.40 hrs/week50% Telecommuting Permitted.Multiple Positions Available.Additional benefits for this role may include: equity, company bonus or sales commissions/bonuses; 401(k) plan; medical, dental, and vision benefits; and wellness stipends.
