Are you looking to build, or continue growing a career in residential solar installation? We are hiring Residential Solar Installers at multiple experience levels to support our expanding installation teams.
This is a hands-on, field-based role focused exclusively on residential solar installations, not general labor. Whether you're newer to solar or a seasoned installer ready for the next step, we align title, responsibilities, and compensation with your experience.
Installer Levels Installer I - Entry Level / Junior Installer
Ideal for candidates newer to solar or transitioning from roofing, electrical, or construction roles.
Responsibilities include:

Assist with installing residential solar PV systems under supervision

Support racking assembly, module placement, and site preparation
-
Safely use ladders, fall protection, and basic power tools
-
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site
-
Learn installation plans, code requirements, and best practices
For installers with hands-on residential solar experience who can perform most install tasks independently.
Responsibilities include:

Install rooftop and ground-mounted solar PV systems per engineered plans
-
Read and execute layout plans, roof diagrams, and equipment placement
-
Install racking, modules, conduit, and assist with wiring
-
Identify and help troubleshoot site and install challenges
-
Support quality control and mentor Installer I team members
For experienced solar professionals ready to take on advanced technical responsibility and leadership on site.
Responsibilities include:

Lead residential solar installations from start to finish
-
Troubleshoot complex roof conditions, layouts, and system issues
-
Ensure NEC compliance, AHJ requirements, and inspection readiness
-
Serve as a technical resource for the install team
-
Train and mentor junior installers
-
Support pathway into Senior Installer or advanced technical roles
-
Install residential solar PV systems on rooftops and ground mounts
-
Follow engineered plans, NEC standards, and local building codes
-
Evaluate job sites for safety, structural integrity, and roof conditions
-
Capture install photos, site notes, and as-built details
-
Maintain clean, professional job sites with a focus on safety and quality
-
Meet daily production goals while prioritizing workmanship
-
Installer I: Construction, roofing, or electrical background preferred
-
Installer II-III: 1-2+ years of residential solar installation experience
-
Comfortable working on pitched roofs using ladders and fall protection
-
Strong mechanical aptitude and experience with hand and power tools
-
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical labor throughout the day
-
Reliable, safety-focused, and team-oriented mindset
-
Valid driver's license and ability to travel to job sites
Typical mid-level pay: $62k for Pipelayers, Plumbers, Pipefitters, and Steamfitters nationally
Senior roles pay 67% more than entry—experience is well rewarded.
