JOB TITLE: Solder Assembler - 2nd Shift LOCATION: Oldsmar FL PAY RATE: $26/hour We are a national aerospace and defense staffing agency seeking highly qualified candidates for a position with a top-tier client. Job Details: Job Type: Contract (12 months with potential for extension) Industry: Aerospace / Defense / Aviation Benefits: Medical dental and vision (Cigna) Perks: Bonus potential Priority access via Tier 1 supplier Openings Nationwide: Thousands of opportunities across the U.S. Qualifying Questions: Are you a U.S. person as defined under ITAR regulations Do you meet the educational and experience requirements for this role Can you commute to the job location or relocate if necessary Summary: Perform manual and/or selective soldering of through-hole SMT BGA QFN CSP and other component types. Conduct visual inspections using microscopes and AOI to identify defects such as bridges cold joints tombstoning insufficient wetting and voids. Apply IPC-A-610 IPC J-STD-001 and IPC-2221/2222 standards throughout the assembly process. Verify solder paste flux and related materials meet specifications. Recommend and support improvements to soldering processes tooling and work instructions. Follow all safety procedures including proper handling of hazardous materials and PPE use. Requirements: High school diploma or GED; technical/vocational training in electronics assembly preferred. Minimum 2 years of hands-on solder assembly experience in a production environment. IPC-A-610 1 2 years IPC J-STD 1 2 years Soldering 1 2 years Proficient with IPC standards (IPC-A-610 IPC J-STD-001 etc.). Ability to solder and inspect a wide range of component sizes (0BGAs QFNs etc.). Familiarity with soldering tools (soldering iron hot air gun reflow oven wave solder). Strong visual inspection skills; experienced with microscopes and AOI equipment. Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving and communication skills; collaborative team player. Experience with mixed-technology boards (SMT and through-hole). Knowledge of lead-free and RoHS-compliant processes. Familiarity with SPC and yield analysis. Ability to lift up to 25 lb (e.g. PCB boxes tooling). Must be a U.S. Citizen (as defined by ITAR).
