Job Description

Employee-Owned Premier Countertop Company is looking for Solid Surface Fabricators/Carpenters for our growing company in Syracuse. Full-time Monday through Friday year-round position with occasional overtime and room for growth! Job Summary: Fabricate and sand solid surface countertops to ensure a smooth surface by hand polishing or using sanding machine or other equipment. Edge and inspect final products for product specifications and or product defects. Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities: (Additional duties may be assigned) Examine order specifications using blueprints drawings and/or work orders to determine characteristics of finished item materials to be used and machine setup requirements. Fabricate solid surface countertops using CNC machine. Operate hand and power sander/ tools to sand solid surface countertops. Visually inspect and examine final products for visual or surface defects. Maintain a neat and clean work area and machines. Examine sanding-belts and replace worn parts clean machines and workstation. Ensure the solid surface shop has been cleaned up at the end of each shift prior to clocking out. Perform related duties as required to support department and or company objectives. Minimum Qualification Standards: High school diploma or equivalent required Prior experience in manufacturing construction carpentry or related field preferred Equivalent combinations of education and work experience will be considered. Knowledge Skills and Abilities: Some analytical ability to find solutions to various problems Ability to follow systems and procedures. Ability to accurately read and interpret project drawings to ensure proper job set-up. Extreme Attention to detail. Basic Math skills Equipment Machines And Software Used: This position requires the regular use of a power and hand tools including but not limited to: CNC machine routers chop saws table saw band saw grinders and power sanders Safety Equipment: Safety glasses safety shoes hearing protection dust mask. Physical and Mental Requirements: Ability to sit stand walk talk hear use hands to finger grasp handle or feel push pull reach crouch bend or kneel climb and perform repetitive motions of the hands and/or wrists. Minimum mental and visual attention required for performing highly routine simple rough or closely directed work such as cleaning up using simple tools for rough work handling crude materials or operating simple controls not requiring adjustment. Manually handling product on or off machine where little coordination with others is required. Physical Exertion: Exerts up to 80 pounds of force frequently and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Environmental Conditions: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that may be encountered while performing the essential functions of this position. Work is performed inside with exposure to noise falling fumes odors gases or poor ventilation oils proximity to moving mechanical parts or exposure to serious injury (e.g. crushed fingers extensive burns broken bones) Busch Products Inc is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
