Job Description

Job DescriptionDesign and implement scalable secure and maintainable enterprise architectures using cloud-native patterns in Azure.Define and evolve current-state and future-state architectures using ArchiMate and TOGAF frameworks to align with business strategy.Lead solution architecture for complex distributed systems across multiple business units and product portfolios.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical specifications and architectural blueprints.Provide architectural governance mentorship and oversight across development teams to ensure alignment with enterprise standards.Demonstrates a structured approach to developing core features using the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) including planning design implementation testing and deployment.Navigates uncertainty or disagreement with thoughtful analysis constructive dialogue and alignment with team or product goals.Applies effective strategies to manage the development and delivery of core features balancing scope quality and timelines.Brings relevant experience and a clear methodology to driving core feature development with an emphasis on collaboration technical rigor and user impact.QualificationsMinimum 8 years of experience in enterprise architecture with a strong background in application development and cloud platforms (Azure).Proficiency in enterprise modeling frameworks and tools such as ArchiMate TOGAF C4BPMN and UML.Demonstrated experience in designing solutions for distributed systems microservices and integration-heavy environments.Strong understanding of DevOps practices CI/CD pipelines containerization (Docker Kubernetes) and cloud deployment strategies.Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage both technical teams and executive stakeholders translating complex concepts into actionable insights.1. Core Azure Platform & Persistence Define the Azure persistence services theyve implemented e.g. Azure Storage (Blob/Table) Azure SQL Database Cosmos DB Data Lake Storage or Azure PostgreSQL/MySQL. Ask for use cases how they chose one over another (scalability latency cost consistency or compliance).2. Integration Messaging & Eventing Check if they have worked with Azure Event Grid Service Bus Event Hubs or Notification Hubs. Ask: Can you describe an event-driven or messaging pattern youve implemented and why it was required3. Architecture & Design Principles Explain the difference between the Control Plane and Data Plane in Azure. Ask when they would prefer Angular vs. React focusing on enterprise context (SPA frameworks performance team skills and ecosystem). Discuss design trade-offs scalability maintainability performance and security.4. Data Architecture Patterns Describe stream-based data lake and data mesh architectures and when to apply each. Clarify understanding of single-tenant vs. multi-tenant designs especially around data isolation cost and compliance.5. Compute Deployment & Serverless Ask about compute choices App Service AKS (Kubernetes) Azure Functions and Container Apps. Explore how they design for scalability and cost optimization using serverless or containerized approaches.6. Architecture Modeling & Documentation Check familiarity with ArchiMate C4 model or PlantUML for architecture visualization. Open-ended: How do you document architecture for clarity and stakeholder alignment7. Deep-Dive / Scenario DiscussionAsk them to walk through an end-to-end solution they architected: Key design decisions and trade-offs (e.g. performance vs. cost complexity vs. agility). Architecture evolution: monolith modular microservices. API-first or event-driven design approach. Handling versioning CI/CD testing and observability. Security and compliance practices (identity secrets data protection network isolation).8. Experience Indicators (Look for Keywords)Listen for: Modern architecture: Microservices DDD EDA SOA API-first CQRS REST GraphQL. Platform delivery: Docker Kubernetes Azure DevOps Terraform Bicep CI/CD pipelines. Architectural frameworks: Solution Architecture TOGAF ArchiMate Well-Architected Framework.
