SPECIAL EDUCATION PARAPROFESSIONALThe purpose of this position is to have an individual who can assist teachers in the delivery of instruction to students.Qualifications: Qualified applicants must forward cover letter resume as well as three current letters of recommendationEducation Training and Experience:High school diploma two years of higher education preferred.Demonstrated ability to work with students under the direction of the teacher nurse/or support staffKnowledge Required:Ability to follow directions effectively.Familiarity with student instructional and disciplinary procedures.Abilities Required:Ability to implement assigned tasks and activities.Diligence in monitoring students safety and security.Ability to support and reinforce the teachers expectations for students.Skills Required:Able to follow directions promptly and effectively.Able to relate to students as a caring adult.Able to work with students on academic tasks assigned by the teacher.Supervision:Supervision Scope:Supervises and supports students.Supervision and Evaluation:Supervised by principal assistant principal housemaster or assistant director of special education.Description of Duties:(The essential functions or duties listed only as illustrations of the various types of work that may be performed.
