Special Education Student Driver at Windham Southwest Supervisory Union

DRIVER Position Responsibilities:- Safely and courteously transports students and other staff members as assigned utilizing the transportation environment as an extension of the classroom. Engages students in meaningful conversations and activities as appropriate. Most runs are early morning and late afternoon.- Assists students in boarding and exiting the vehicle and assures safety restraints are utilized per state law.- Drivers provide safe transportation of special education students to and from the educational setting based on assigned or covering routes; assist students to safely enter and exit the vehicle as needed operate vehicle in accordance with all Federal and State traffic regulations; complete all required documentation and record keeping as required; perform regular vehicle safety checks.
