Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Key Qualifications:

  • Active Connecticut Educator Certificate with Special Education endorsement required
  • Full-time availability for the duration of the assignment
  • Experience in a self-contained special education setting is valued
  • Comfortable working with students of various ages and abilities
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities

Role Responsibilities:

  • Deliver individualized, evidence-based instruction to students with diverse needs in a self-contained classroom
  • Develop and implement IEPs in accordance with state and federal guidelines
  • Assess student progress and adjust teaching strategies to maximize learning
  • Collaborate with general education staff, therapists, and families to support student achievement
  • Create a positive, inclusive learning environment that fosters growth and independence
  • Maintain accurate records and meet all required documentation and reporting timelines

This assignment runs from late August 2026 through May 2027 and involves working onsite approximately 30-32.5 hours per week. You'll join a committed team focused on student success and building a nurturing community for all learners.
