Special Education Teacher in Nazareth, PA at Bilingual Therapies

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Exciting opportunity for dedicated Special Education Teachers to make a meaningful impact across Carbon and Lehigh Counties. These contract roles are ideal for educators eager to support diverse student populations in various classroom settings throughout the school year. As itinerant teachers, you'll help cover leaves and absences, ensuring continuous support for students across multiple locations. When not filling in for a specific site, you'll contribute directly to an IU classroom, providing essential instruction and stability.

Key qualifications:

• Active Pennsylvania teaching license
• Current PA PDE Certification: must hold a valid Experience-Based Certificate in Special Education PK-12, Instructional I, and/or Instructional II Certificate in appropriate Special Education subjects
• Demonstrated experience supporting students in special education settings
• Proven participation in IEP development and implementation
• Must be able to work in person (remote work is not available for this position)
• Reliable transportation to various school sites within Carbon or Lehigh Counties

Primary responsibilities:

• Provide instructional and behavioral support for students with special needs across assigned geographic areas
• Step into classroom roles to cover short- and long-term staff absences
• Collaborate closely with school staff and participate actively in IEP planning and meetings
• Adapt teaching strategies to address a variety of student needs
• Maintain accurate records and update documentation as required for each assignment

Assignment includes 35 hours per week, following the academic calendar from August to June. Flexibility, strong communication skills, and collaborative spirit are key for success in this rewarding role.
