Meeting Street is a special place of learning where children of all abilities have the opportunities to reach their fullest potential.Full-time employees receive:Competitive Pay$5000 sign on bonusGenerous PTO13 paid holidaysMedical dental vision and MOREMeeting Street is currently looking for a Special Education Teacher - Kindergarten for 40 hours per week.Duties:Collaborates and co-teaches daily with other educator and specialists in the planning adapting and teaching of the general education curriculum for all learners.Plans and implements motivating and creative age-appropriate lessons and activities to address goals as outlined in each students IEP.Collaborates with other teachers and therapists to implement an integrated educational/therapeutic model.Creates a learning environment where the students are stimulated and motivated to work to their best potential.Supervises and assigns duties to the teacher assistant(s) so their work with the students is reflective of their individual needs or the needs of the program.Meets timelines for all evaluations IEP development and evaluations.Meeting Street believes the dignity of each person is paramount. It is also our policy to protect employees and applicants from any coercion retaliation or discrimination for filing a complaint or assisting in any investigation pursuant to the equal opportunity laws.Learn more about us at RequirementsBachelors or masters degree in special education.Valid Certification from Rhode Island Department of Education (RIDE) as a Special Education Teacher in Severe/Profound or Mild/Moderate with willingness to pursue Severe/Profound disabilities certification.Work environment and physical requirements consistent with those of a typical school environment.Lift and carry students as well as transfer students from wheelchairs to equipment as required.
