Pride Health is hiring a Specimen Technician to support our client’s medical facility in Miramar FL 33025

Title: Specimen Technician

Location: Miramar FL 33025

Schedule: 9 pm-midnight / 8-hour shifts with a break

M-F: 11 pm-730am CST

Pay Range/Salary Range: $17/hr. - $19.78/hr.

Contract Duration: 6 months, Possible extension

The Specimen Processing Technician I (SPT I) provides general support within the Specimen Processing Department. This role involves a variety of laboratory support and data entry tasks in a fast-paced, production-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

• A-station processing
• Presorting samples
• Specimen pickup and delivery
• Imaging/microfilming
• Centrifugation and aliquoting
• Ensure all tasks are completed:
• Within required turnaround times
• Enter data with a minimum speed of 6,000 alphanumeric keystrokes/hour
• Maintain organization and properly identify specimen types based on ordered tests
• Follow all compliance regulations related to test ordering (subject to frequent updates)
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment, including biohazard safety practices

Work Environment & Expectations

• Production-based setting focused on productivity and quality standards

Requires ability to:

• Sit or stand for extended periods
• Adapt quickly to changing procedures and workload demands

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
• Skills & Knowledge: Basic computer knowledge required
• Familiarity with laboratory testing or specimen processing preferred

Experience

• No prior experience required

Preferred:

• Laboratory or clinical experience
• Knowledge of medical terminology
• Hospital or production environment experience

Additional Requirements

• Bilingual (English/Spanish) candidates strongly preferred (English proficiency required)
