Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Speech Language Pathologist to join our team at our Skilled Nursing Facility in Sands Point, NY. As a Speech Language Pathologist, you will assess, diagnose, treat, and help prevent speech, language, cognitive, communication, voice, swallowing, fluency and other related disorders. You will provide resident evaluation, assessment, care planning, education, direct treatment, and consultations for general speech therapy services.

Responsibilities:

• Assess, diagnose, treat, and help prevent speech, language, cognitive, communication, voice, swallowing, fluency, and other related disorders
• Provide resident evaluation, assessment, care planning, education, direct treatment, and consultations for general speech therapy services, including sound production, speech clarity, speech rhythm and fluency problems, voice quality problems, understanding and producing language, cognitive and communication impairments, oral motor problems resulting in eating and swallowing difficulties, etc.
• Provide teaching and training to family/caregivers and staff
• Document patient progress and maintain accurate records

Requirements:

• Must have a graduate degree, successfully completed the required clinical experiences, and pass a national examination
• NYS License in good standing as a Speech-Language Pathologist
• Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) offered by the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA)
