If you are enthusiastic about helping every student reach their full potential and are excited to work closely with both a dedicated special education team and individual student support teams we encourage you to apply.QUALIFICATIONS:Job Requirements:Licensed or eligible for Vermont Educators License.Endorsement as an SLP or eligible for Vermont Provisional License.Currently qualified or eligible for CCC.Eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.Required Qualifications:Experience in effectively working with and case-managing up to 20 students with a variety of speech and language needs in one-on-one and small group settings.Ability to diagnose and assess language development needs of 30-35 other students per year.Experience supporting students with social cognition behavioral and social emotional needs.Current knowledge and experience with Speech and Language assessmentsExperience training and supervising para-educators providing support services to special needs studentsExperience in planning leading and managing large and potentially complex IEP meetings with students parents teachers outside agencies community mentors and other support people.Understanding of Cultural Competency (as explained through Essay 1 on SchoolSpring).Knowledge of best practices regarding frameworks of student behavioral support.Preferred Attributes:Training and/or experience with English Language Learners.Experience in a professional/teaching learning community; experience in co-teaching/collaborating with other educators.Evidence of student-centered learning approaches including personalizing instruction and supporting students meeting core proficienciesEvidence of integrating technology into the learning environment.Ongoing educational post graduate coursework in education or subject area including diversity equity and inclusion.EMPLOYMENT TERMS:SALARY:As per theMaster Agreementbetween the Burlington Board of School Commissioners and the Burlington Education Association.
