Helps ensure the safety and well-being of all employees,players, and spectators who may be participating within the program. The SportsAttendant will always be approachable and dedicated to providing participants withthe most enjoyable experience possible. In addition, the Sports Attendant willincorporate the values of honesty, respect, caring, faith and responsibility into thedaily functions of the YMCA.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Daily performs safety check of equipmentSets up and breaks down equipment in a timely mannerEnsures that games begin and end at scheduled timesAssists Sports Director in Adult & Youth Sports and Interactive Zone programsAssists supervising officials and participants at game sitesResponds to injuries through administering first aid and proper reportingSettling on-field and on-court rule protests and disputesMonitors on and off-site activities and enforces rules and regulationsObtains feedback from players & spectators regarding their participation in the programEnsures all areas of responsibility are clean and free of potential safety risksCommunicates YMCA policies, programs, and special eventsPromotes the YMCA mission, vision, and character developmentActively participates in annual fund raising (We Build People) campaignsAssists with coaches meetings, captains meeting, dinners, and other special eventsBe physically present in the program. This requires most weekend and evening hoursAttends center and association meetings as appropriate and directed by your supervisorAttainment of goals and objectives as evidenced in the performance appraisal processWorks to increase participation and retention of members/participantsDevelops and maintains good staff and volunteer relationsAssists with other duties as requestedRequirements:LEADERSHIP COMPETENCIES:Developing Self and OthersCommunication and InfluenceEmotional MaturityQUALIFICATIONS:Must be at least 16 years of agePrior work experience, preferredA professional, clean appearance and great attitudeStrong customer service, organizational and communication skillsA well-rounded individual who can engage with members, co-workers, directors and volunteers in a positive and professional mannerAttention to detail, accuracy and deadlinesENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS, PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be metby an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to:May be required to walk, stand, run, kneel, climb and stoopMust be able to sit on the floor and get back upContinuous operations requiring attention to detail and multi-taskingMust be able to lift, pull and pull up to 50 poundsMust be able to stand or sit for long periods of timeMust be physically able to successfully complete required certificationsACCOUNTABILITY:Accountable for completion of assigned goals as measured by the number of peopleserved and service satisfaction scores.BACKGROUND CHECKS:An offer of employment is contingent upon receipt of satisfactory results to meetminimum requirements of the position.
