Job DescriptionJob DescriptionPosition OverviewProvide high quality instruction, leadership, and mentorship to participants in the Crafton Sportsman Complex program to provide participants with knowledge, skills, and attitudes related to Range and Target Activities, Firearm Safety, Wildlife Management, Conservation and Hunter Education.Key ResponsibilitiesInstruct at the Crafton Sportsman Complex, including firearm safety, wildlife management, conservation and hunter education. Operate indoor simulation range and provide coaching for firearm techniquesPresent and teach in front of 20-40 people and clearly transfer knowledgeAssist in the set up and takedown of the Skills Center facilities and equipment. Ensure a safe environment for all guestsModel the Scout Oath and Law in daily interactionsMaintain a clean, organized, inspected, neat, and safe work areaPerform additional duties assigned by SBR leadershipAbide by policies and procedures outlined in the SBR staff handbookQualificationsMinimum age: 18+Preferred: Knowledge in the use of firearms and experience in archery (training provided)Preferred: Knowledge and/or experience in hunting, hunting laws, conservation, wildlife agencies (training provided)Computer literacy and ability to use MS Office presentation softwareWilling to become a registered Scouting America member (includes background screening)Comfortable using Microsoft Teams for daily work-related communicationPhysical & Practical RequirementsAbility to stand, walk, and hike up to 8 hours daily and ability to lift/move up to 50 poundsComplete the Annual Health and Medical Record, including height/weight guidelinesHousing: 10'x12' platform tent in Staff Camp | Uniform: Summit Staff Uniform | Work Hours: 45-55Desired TraitsHigh emotional intelligence (such as self/social awareness and team dynamics)Positive and cheerful attitude with a strong customer-service focusAdaptability in a fast-paced environment with ability to learn/develop hard and soft skillsAbility to connect with individuals from diverse age groups, maturity, and backgrounds
