Spring 2026 Accounting Intern at Construction Management & Builders

Employment Type: InternshipThe Accounting Co-op/Intern will gain experience in all areas of project accounting and learn the key aspects of accounting with a construction management firm. The Accounting Co-op/Intern will assist with daily weekly and monthly tasks learning the full cycle of accounting management. This position reports to the Accounting Manager Melanie McKinnon.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesLearn the complete cycle of a project in accounting from startup meeting to closeoutManage Accounts Payable cycle: Acquire code and date entry of AP invoices. Properly save on systems and circulate for approval. Knowledge of and adherence to payment terms and subcontractor compliance requirementsPrepare request and track subcontractor lien waiversAct as a liaison to subcontractors and vendors regarding payment inquiriesResearch and reconcile vendor statementsAssist in preparation for check runsManaging Accounts Receivable cycle: prep month-end client invoicesAttend weekly accounting meetings cost meetings and startup and closeout meeting with the project teamBuild relationship with key stakeholders including vendors subcontractors and clientsCompleting other miscellaneous projects as neededRequirementsQualificationsAccounting finance or business administration major or related fieldAccurate and efficient with a strong work ethic and interpersonal communication skillsCM&B encourages all Co-op/ Interns to immerse in the company culture by networking internally and participating in company events.
