NHTI Concords Community CollegePosition Type: Part-time adjunctSemester: Spring 2025Compensation: $825 - $975 per credit based on adjunct faculty rank (determined by education and experience)Position Overview:NHTI is seeking a qualified adjunct faculty member to teach CVET 245C: Hydrology/Drainage Design. This course provides students with essential knowledge for NHTIs Civil Engineering Technology program a program that combines civil engineering and technology theory with a solid foundation in math and science opportunities for teamwork and presentations and hands-on activities.Course Details:Course Name: Hydrology/Drainage DesignCredits: 3Lecture Hours: 3 hours weeklyLab/Practicum Hours: NoneSchedule and Location: Schedule to be determined on our Concord NH campusCourse Description:This entry-level course teaches students the basics of stormwater drainage. They will learn how to delineate a watershed apply runoff calculations to the watershed and determine peak design flows. These design flows will then be used to instruct students in the basics of hydraulics as it pertains to stormwater flow. They will learn how storm drainage systems are planned and what components make up a drainage system. They will leave the course understanding stormwater flow in culverts how to determine if a culvert is flowing with inlet or outlet control and how to use nomographs in the selection of a particular culvert. Students will apply this knowledge to basic open channel flow and learn about erosion and sediment control.Key Responsibilities:Teach the assigned course using curriculum and instructional materials aligned with program standards.Facilitate class discussion board interaction assignments and assessments to foster student engagement and learning.Provide regular feedback and maintain accurate records of student progress.Maintain professional currency in the field and comply with college policies and standards.Minimum Qualifications:Education: Masters degree in the subject area or a closely related areaExperience: Prior teaching experience and familiarity with Canvas or a similar Learning Management System preferred.Residency: Must reside in NH VT ME MA RI or CT.Application Process:Submit a completed employment application with a cover letter CV/resume and copies of official or unofficial transcripts.
