NHTI Concords Community CollegePosition Type: Part-time adjunctSemester: Spring 2025Compensation: $825 - $975 per credit based on adjunct faculty rank (determined by education and experience)Position Overview:NHTI is seeking a qualified adjunct faculty member to teach ARET 160C: Introduction to Geographic Information Systems (GIS). This course provides students with essential knowledge for NHTIs engineering technology programs focusing on practical applications and real-world relevance.Course Details:Course Name: Introduction to Geographic Information Systems (GIS)Credits: 3Lecture Hours: 3 hours weeklyLab/Practicum Hours: 2 hours weeklySchedule and Location: Schedule to be determined on our Concord NH campusCourse Description:An introduction to geographic information systems (GIS) global positioning systems (GPS) and ESRIs ArcGIS. Topics will include basic GIS concepts; the structure and availability of GIS data; the N.H. GIS database; creation of maps; editing and creation of GIS data; the use of GPS to collect information for use in GIS; and GIS processing and analysis. The course will combine lectures hands-on exercises and an individual student project over the course of the semester.Key Responsibilities:Teach the assigned course using curriculum and instructional materials aligned with program standards.Facilitate class discussion board interaction assignments and assessments to foster student engagement and learning.Provide regular feedback and maintain accurate records of student progress.Maintain professional currency in the field and comply with college policies and standards.Minimum Qualifications:Education: Masters degree in the subject area or a closely related areaExperience: Prior teaching experience and familiarity with Canvas or a similar Learning Management System preferred.Residency: Must reside in NH VT ME MA RI or CT.Application Process:Submit a completed employment application with a cover letter CV/resume and copies of official or unofficial transcripts.
