Essential Functions
- Architect and implement new databases and data platforms to meet business and technical requirements
- Build and maintain scalable ELT/ETL pipelines and data models for analytics and reporting
- Manage and optimize database environments, including provisioning, performance tuning, and access controls
- Implement and manage automation and workflow orchestrations for reliable, repeatable deployments
- Ensure data quality, consistency, and compliance through robust validation and monitoring practices
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define technical requirements, estimate development efforts, and deliver business-aligned solutions
- Troubleshoot complex issues, recommend improvements, and maintain clear documentation of data systems, processes, and solutions proposed/implemented
- Mentor junior data engineers, providing technical guidance, code reviews, and best practices
Required Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 10+ years of hands-on experience with relational databases, including designing and implementing new database systems
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities- Proven experience designing and building new databases and large-scale data systems, particularly in PostgreSQL and Snowflake; hands-on experience with dbt
- Demonstrated ability to develop and optimize ELT/ETL pipelines for complex data sets
- Experience with cloud architecture, workflow orchestration, and Git-based version control
- Knowledge of data governance, data quality, and validation practices
- Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills
- Excellent communication skills and experience working in agile, cross-functional teams
- Working knowledge of Python preferred, familiarity with data visualization principles a plus

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in an office setting with constant sitting and occasional standing.
