Staff Software Engineer Consumer at Plaid

The Consumer team is responsible for building Plaids first direct to consumer products starting with a security focused experience that helps people protect and manage their financial identity. We focus on creating intuitive high trust experiences that give users more control over their financial data and strengthen their confidence in using Plaid.This is a small fast moving team working from zero to one on Plaids first consumer app. Engineers here shape the product architecture and long term strategy from the ground up while collaborating closely with product design and research.As a member of the Consumer team you will help design and build the systems that power Plaids first consumer app. You will collaborate with product design and infrastructure partners to deliver features that help people manage their financial identity and feel secure in their financial lives.As a senior technical leader you will guide architectural decisions scale backend systems and shape the long term technical direction of Plaids consumer platform. You will also mentor other engineers and help define best practices as we grow the team and expand Plaids consumer offerings.ResponsibilitiesDesign and build backend systems that power our consumer-facing experiencesDrive technical execution on major features by collaborating closely with product design and infrastructure teamsRun experiments and use data to iterate on user-facing features and improve adoptionMentor engineers and contribute to a strong inclusive team cultureInfluence the long-term technical direction of Plaids consumer platformQualifications8 years of experience in software engineering with a proven track record of delivering successful projects2 years of experience as a project lead working with other engineers and other functions (product design data science) to drive executionFamiliarity with running experiments and using data to inform product and technical decisionsStrong user empathy and ability to balance technical tradeoffs with product outcomesDemonstrated leadership skills including mentoring junior engineers$202800 - $330000 a yearTarget base salary for this role is between $202800 and $330000 per year. Additional compensation in the form of equity and/or commission is dependent on the position offered. Plaid provides a comprehensive benefit plan including medical dental vision and 401(k).
