This individual plans, directs, and implements the Company safety program to ensure a safe, healthy and productive work environment exists throughout the company. This individual fosters a commitment to Safety in all work performed. Our Corporate Safety Director plays a critical role in supporting the companys core values.Key Responsibilities:Proactively leads the companys safety program to keep employees safe, ensure regulatory compliance and reduce risk.Build relationships with project team members including project leadership, project safety professionals, and team members.Assists in setting up and maintaining safe jobsites and ensures ongoing compliance with safety rules and regulations at all locationsMaintains an active incident management programPerforms on-site audits to identify unsafe operations, risks and compliance issuesCoordinates Workers Compensation claims to ensure timely and appropriate employee care and incident managementOversees and supports safety meeting implementation and documentationServes as the company safety subject matter expert with clients, regulators and employeesDevelops and analyzes reporting to identify trends and indicators to help prevent future incidentsIdentifies, creates and conducts safety training for compliance with all safety requirementsDevelops and mentors jobsite safety professionalsDrives continuous improvement and innovation across projects, implementing best practices in behavioral based safetyQualifications:Bachelors degree or equivalent combination of training and related experience Degree in Occupational Safety/Health is a plusAt least 10 years construction safety experienceIn-depth knowledge of OSHA standards, Coast Guard safety regulations and workers compensation lawsOSHA30 certificationThorough understanding of federal, state, and local safety regulationsSkilled in hazard recognition, record keeping and implementation of corrective measuresExperience with Incident and Injury Free (IIF) safety program preferredDemonstrated ability to collaborate and build partnerships across the business to improve our safety cultureExcellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skillsTravel Requirements:Varying amounts of travelApplications submitted without a resume will not be considered.Massman Construction Co. is an Equal Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action Employer.It is the employment policy and practice of Massman Construction Co. to recruit and to hire qualified employees without discrimination because of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or national origin, age, disability, veteran status, or other classes protected by applicable law, and to not discriminate with respect to compensation and opportunities for advancement, including upgrading, promotion, and transfers.E-Verify StatementMassman Construction Co. participates in E-Verify.
