Job Description

DescriptionThe role is responsible for leading the growth and management to bring Platform data and data science capabilities and services internally to Mayo Clinic staff. Platform data and data science capabilities and services include but are not limited to access to de-identified data data analytic applications like cohort visualizer annotation data dictionary data science workspaces model refinement and validation. The combination of Mayo Clinic experts and Platform data and technology will enable new knowledge solutions and discovery of novel clinical and research insights. The position will be responsible for the following essential functions:StrategyPartner with Mayo Clinics research and practice leadership (clinical trials IRB etc) to identify strategic tactics to leverage Platforms capabilities and ecosystem to advance discovery translation and clinical trials research activity at Mayo Clinic.Create an inclusive and collaborative culture that will drive the team(s) to achieve and surpass targets goals and objectives. Example targets include: number of patient lives impacted by Platform capabilities number of peer reviewed publications number of digital solutions developed and deployed within Mayo Clinic number of novel therapeutics or advanced diagnostics created leveraging Platform data services or capabilities.Develop and implement strategy to scale Platform capabilities within Mayo ClinicInform Platforms R&D data and technology roadmap by collating documenting Mayo Clinic staff feedbackProvide strategic oversight of Mayo Clinic staff engagements operations and provide applicable support in all aspects of the programModify the packaging and delivery of Platform capabilities to better meet the specific needs of Mayo ClinicMonitor the broader data data science innovation and research ecosystem at Mayo Clinic to better understand how and where Platform can provide valueCollaborate with the leadership team to develop and implement plans for the operational infrastructure of systems processes and people designed to accommodate the rapid growth objectives of our organizationBuild relationships and drive partnerships with the key staff and influencers across Mayo ClinicExecutionDrive operations planning strategy implementation execution and continuous improvement for research innovation and clinical projects prioritized by Mayo Clinic staff that leverage Platforms de-identified data data science applications and workspaces to create new clinical and research insightsDrive efforts to scale the data discovery programFoster a culture of operational excellence through the development of processes and tools and metrics-based KPIs for successful operations of the programSupport adoption of new data data science applications workspaces technologies and tools to optimize for user experience in the programDetermine need for new capabilities based on budget Mayo Clinic needs and improvements in technologyEnsure alignment with other teams in the Mayo Clinic PlatformThe above statements describe the general nature and level of work only. Other duties may be added or assigned.Qualifications Bachelors degree in relevant field such as engineering mathematics computer science health science or other analytical/quantitative fields. Minimum of 8 years of experience in a data analytics or informatics role Advanced technical skills within common analytic toolsets and ability to adapt to new technologies Strong knowledge of technology at the intersection of services and software especially healthcare information systems. Deep understanding of informatics data and statistics. Deep expertise in the use of scientific computing and data management packages Working knowledge of data governance regulatory compliance and privacy policies and best practices. Creative thinker who can quickly develop innovative ideas. Demonstrated ability to develop predictive and prescriptive models on large-scale datasets to address various business problems through leveraging advanced statistical modeling machine learning or datamining techniques. Demonstrated ability to independently manage a varied workload of projects with multiple priorities and stay current on healthcare trends and enterprise changes. Excellent interpersonal skills to include presentation negotiation persuasion and written communications skills are required. Flexible and able to multitask; can work within an ambiguous fast-moving environment while also driving toward clarity and solutions; demonstrated resourcefulness in setting priorities and guiding investment in people and systems. Excellent collaboration and influencing skills with an ability to navigate enterprise politics and matrixed relationships. Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate vision strategy and complex data into practical actionable terms relatable to all levels of the organization and stakeholders. Masters degree preferred.
