Together lets redefine what is possible in orbit and beyond!SummaryTerran Orbital is seeking an experienced Sr. Electrical Electronic & Electromechanical (EEE) Components/Parts Materials & Processes (PM&P) Engineer to join our growing team. Reporting to the Mission Assurance Director the Sr. EEE/PM&P Engineer provides assurance to deliver affordable high-performance satellite systems that provide product lifecycle reliability and safety and meet internal specifications and customer contract requirements.Key Duties and Responsibilities Work collaboratively with the Engineering EEE Parts Manager to advise design engineers on parts selection based on part reliability availability and manufacturing processesEvaluate EEE and PM&P contract requirements to identify and resolve gapsEvaluate performance reliability safety and value considerations of EEE parts in product design to comply with company standards and customer requirementsServe as the prime interface with customers on parts materials and process requirementsSupport reliability risk mitigation by bringing together supply chain design engineers and production/manufacturing and driving to closureUse reliability analysis failure models and reliability metrics to assess PM&P-related risks. Use software tools (e.g. Sherlock) to simulate PCBA stresses that impact flight reliability and provide corrective design solutionsAdvise engineering on parts selection based on reliability availability and manufacturing processesAssess part reliability risks and provide feedback to guide selectionEvaluate electrical thermal and mechanical characteristics of integrated circuits components sub-components and PCBAs to determine root cause of failure. Coordinate drive and perform EEE parts/PM&P root cause failure analysisGenerate failure reports and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence of problemsDevelop and track metrics on failure analyses to resolve systematic issues and root causesSupport failure review boards engineering reviewsCompile and deliver parts materials and processes lists to meet contract requirementsProvide input to program managers and proposal teams to evaluate and ensure implementation of EEE/PM&P requirementsLead initiatives to develop/improve PM&P processes and practicesEnsure EEE/PM&P requirements flow down to suppliers and subcontractorsManage the PM&P program including oversight of subcontractor PM&P practicesManage the PM&P Control Plan and associated EEE/PM&P procedures.Manage Counterfeit Parts Prevention Program including Non-Standard Parts/Materials Approval Requests (NSPAR/NSMAR) (internal and from subcontractors)Perform other duties as assignedRequired Qualifications and Skills BS degree in Electrical Engineering5 years relevant electrical engineering experience preferably in aerospaceEEE parts engineering including reliability utilization obsolescence and parts libraryApplication of EEE/PM&P military and industry standards e.g. MIL NASA ISO ECSS IPCAnalysis of designs materials processes systems and manufacturing practices for reliabilityPart material and process analyses to troubleshoot failures and recommend solutionsExperience leading multi-functional failure analysis/investigation and root cause analysis (RCCA)Counterfeit parts and materials management including inspection techniques and test methodsReview EEE/PM&P-related contract requirements against internal practices/procedures and clearly communicate implementation practicesExcellent written and verbal communication - able to clearly speak listen and write in both technical and non-technical termsThrive in a dynamic team environment adapting to changing priorities ambiguity and uncertaintyU.S. Citizenship with ability to obtain and maintain DoD security clearanceAdditional DifferentiatorsMasters degree in engineering physical sciences or business administrationFamiliarity with MS Office JIRA Manufacturo Aegis D365 and common PLM & MES toolsAnsys Sherlock parts reliability analysis toolPassive and active electronic components connectors metal finishes tin whisker mitigation lead-free solder control and parts obsolescencePreparation and review of approval requests for non-standard parts and materials (NSPAR/NSMAR)Presenting and communicating with customers and senior leadershipAerospace customers and related mission/product assurance practices familiarity of satellites space vehicles and ground systemsSubcontract managementYour actual level and base salary will be determined case-by-case and may vary based on the job-related qualification knowledge skills education and addition to base salary we offer 100% covered medical dental and vision coverage a 401(k) match Flexible Time Off (FTO) covered life insurance maternity and paternity leave tuition reimbursement employee referrals and lots of swag!Salary Range$130000 - $160000 USDBenefits100% Company-paid comprehensive medical dental and vision coverage for you and your dependents401(k) MatchFlexible Time Off (FTO)Education ReimbursementCompetitive Paid Parental LeaveAbout Terran OrbitalTerran Orbital is a leading manufacturer of satellite products primarily serving the aerospace and defense industries.
