Sr. Engineer, Manufacturing
Work Mode: Onsite
Location: Onsite - Sheridan, AR
Opportunity
Develop statistical process controls, specify equipment upgrades and enhancements, specify maintenance programs and timing, develop additional finish capabilities, establish finish and process capacities and capabilities, specify strategic supply chain sourcing programs and conduct verification and qualification for new product integrations for all Arkansas Faucet Operations (AFO) current and proposed finishing operations. Individual will be responsible for leading teams in developing control limits and standards for finishes existing and in development internal to AFO and through support of corporate development and external suppliers as required while ensuring the Global Quality standards and AFO strategic Finishing departments metrics are met.
Individual will support all aspects of KSMS Tier I, II, III, and IV goals and objectives with focus on Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost (SQDC)available resources. Ensure all areas managed are implementing and sustaining all initiatives of KSMS safety standards. Ensure areas of responsibility are operating under the absolute safest working environment for its associates and their activities at all times.

Specific Responsibilities
- Research and develop process and equipment upgrades for current and future finishing operations at AFO in compliance with SQDC specifications.
- Develop process controls to reduce variability within AFO finishing metrics through expanded training and knowledge of processes.
- Research new finishing techniques for utilization in AFO finishing departments for the purposes of safety, quality and cost improvements or significant throughput changes.
- Develop preventative maintenance programs for AFO finishing operations to ensure minimal downtime or impact to AFO metrics.
- Establish metrics for capacity and utilization based on proposed and existing equipment factoring in changes to incoming order rates and potential new product launches.
- Create a long-term vision to define equipment needs and replacement strategies to ensure continued performance and growth within AFO operations.
- Evaluate product performance specifications to determine appropriate processing requirements, tooling requirements and handling/packaging for production.
- Evaluate and specify supply chain recommendations based on product performance, yield rates, total cost analysis and delivery performance.
- Support Corporate Research and Development teams on the initiatives of new finish and process development of metallic, organic or other finishes to be released at AFO.
- Develop cost structures for use in evaluating potential new finishes or processing equipment.
- Support New Product Development teams through product qualification and verification for production within AFO.
- Provide support to Kohler facilities and external vendors (as required) to aid in the development and advancement of finishing operations in pursuit of Kohler's SQDC goals companywide.
- Lead teams to drive strategic improvements in AFO finishing operations in all aspects of SQDC.
- Direct support associates in development of individual part qualifications and performance evaluations for both new and current components/processes.
- Provide root cause analysis support and feedback on issues outside of the finishing departments are required.
- Provide written and verbal communications as required with all levels of the organization and with external suppliers to support AFO growth and development initiatives.
- Conduct research and development of new finishing processes to support AFO's zero footprint and environmental impacts goals.
- Support all tasks and assignments as specified by Department and AFO management.
- Work in compliance with OH&S acts and regulations.
- Use personal protective equipment and clothing as directed by the employer.
- Report workplace hazards and dangers.
- Work in a manner as required by the employer and use the prescribed safety equipment.
Skills/Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science/Applied Science or other technical area.
- 5+ years of experience in manufacturing or finishing processes, including plating, assembly, organic finishing, powder coating, or PVD preferred.
- Ability to prepare and complete effective reports regarding special investigations/projects and summaries of recorded data.
