Sr Field Service Engineer - TLLocationUS-SC-North CharlestonID2025-10492CategoryField Service EngineerPosition TypeRegular Full-TimeApplication Open Date9/17/2025DescriptionSupervising and coordinating all shipboard requirementsManaging the performance of their crew of O&M Technician crew membersServing as the senior contractor onboard the ship supporting IOSC and the contractorStanding watch in the SURTASS Operations Center (SOC) onboard SURTASS vessels to operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair SURTASS mission equipment to support Fleet requirements, including maintaining all required records and logs and monitoring and sending record Naval Message TrafficPerforming preventative and corrective maintenance on all SURTASS mission equipment in accordance with the PMS and other reference documents, as required Utilizing the WILD trouble ticket application to log all maintenance trouble tickets for action in the JSN/WKRQ log, which shall include all applicable labor, external technical assistance, parts, and time expended Maintaining an accurate logistics inventory as provided by the Government, and provide periodic updates to the Product Support Facility (PSF) Operating the shipboard test equipment pool used with SURTASS mission equipment, including ensuring it is in calibration through early and frequent coordination with the PSF Maintaining a technical library on each ship to support all SURTASS mission equipmentSubmitting required reports in accordance with the SURTASS SOP, and other directivesFILLING THIS POSITION IS CONTINGENT UPON FUNDING#LI-LH1RequirementsRequires an associate's degree in computer science, electronics technology, or be a graduate of US Navy electronics "C" school or equivalent civilian electronics technical school; Curriculum must have dealt directly with the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of: VME computers, digital computers, microprocessors or peripheral/interface equipment, networks, communications system, navigation system and/or sonar systemFive (5) years of experience managing personnel DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification required within 12 monthsDesired SkillsFour (4) years of practical hands-on experience in the operations, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of secure networks and communications systems, navigations systems, and sonar systemsExperience with SURTASS mission systems is highly desiredClearance InformationSRC IS A CONTRACTOR FOR THE U.S. GOVERNMENT, THIS POSITION WILL REQUIRE U.S. CITIZENSHIP AS WELL AS, A U.S. GOVERNMENT SECURITY CLEARANCE AT THE TOP SECRET / SCI LEVELTravel RequirementsRequires travel/underway periods of up to 90 days at a timeAbout UsScientific Research Corporation is an advanced information technology and engineering company that provides innovative products and services to government and private industry, as well as independent institutions.
