What Machine Operation contributes to Cardinal HealthManufacturing is responsible for cost of production and maintenance activities including process improvement supply chain management quality assurance employee safety and engagement and environmental commitment.Machine Operation sets up and operates a variety of machine tools to make metal parts mechanisms tools or machines to exacting tolerances and dimensions. Interprets blueprints sketches and engineering specifications; determines sequence of operations number of cuts required and method of setup; uses a variety of machinists hand tools and precision measuring instruments; makes standard shop computations relating to dimensions of work tooling feeds and speeds; measures marks and scribes dimensions and reference points to lay out stock for machining; fits and assembles precision parts into mechanical equipment and determines material parts and equipment required. Some machines may be numerically controlled. May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures. Typically requires completion of a formal apprenticeship or equivalent training and experience.Shift DetailsWeek 1 - 7:00 am to 7:00 pm on Monday Thursday and FridayWeek 2 - 7:00 am to 7:00 pm on Tuesday Wednesday Saturday and SundayQualifications2-4 years of experience preferredHigh School diploma GED or equivalent or equivalent work experience preferredResponsibilitiesSetting up machines adjustments and minor maintenance on machines.Conduct quality inspections as well as quality and processing audits.Monitors production process and directs lower-level Operators.Operate light-duty bench or floor-type machine tools and automation equipment in the Briefs department.
