Job Description:Note: Fidelity will not provide immigration sponsorship for this position.The RoleAs an Engineering Manager within Workplace Investing Technology, you will define and execute the technical strategy for a portfolio of applications supporting back-office operations and process automation. You will lead a cross-functional team of engineers and analysts to deliver scalable, secure, and resilient workflow and orchestration solutions.Partnering closely with Product, Architecture, and Operations, you will translate business objectives into high-impact technology solutions that improve efficiency, scalability, and operational effectiveness. You will own end-to-end delivery, team performance, and production stability within your domain.This role requires a strong balance of technical leadership, delivery execution, and people development, with the ability to thrive in a transformation-focused environment.Key ResponsibilitiesDefine and execute engineering strategy aligned to business priorities, product vision, and enterprise architectureTranslate business, operational, and regulatory needs into actionable roadmaps; own delivery milestones and outcomesProvide technical leadership across workflow automation and BPM solutions, guiding architecture, design, and implementationBuild scalable, reliable, and maintainable systems while balancing near-term delivery with long-term standardization and reuseDrive engineering excellence through best practices in coding, testing, design patterns, CI/CD, and modern architecturesRemain hands-on to unblock teams and ensure high-quality, stable releases, especially during critical production periodsChampion adoption of AI-assisted development to improve productivity, quality, and delivery speedOwn end-to-end delivery including planning, estimation, capacity management, dependencies, and continuous improvementLead operational excellence through strong production support, incident management, and root cause preventionBuild, lead, and develop a high-performing team across hiring, coaching, and career developmentFoster a culture of accountability, inclusion, and continuous learningTranslate technical concepts into business outcomes and influence decision-makingIdentify and deliver opportunities to improve efficiency, scalability, and process effectivenessRequired Skills and Expertise12 years in software engineering; 3 years leading teams; Bachelor’s in Computer Science or equivalent experienceExpertise in BPM/workflow automation and business process reengineering (Camunda preferred)Strong foundation in object-oriented design, engineering patterns, and modern application architecturesExperience building REST APIs, distributed systems, and working with relational and NoSQL databasesDeep knowledge of SDLC, quality practices, and engineering governanceProven track record delivering scalable, resilient systems with strong production support practicesExperience with monitoring, logging, alerting, performance tuning, and CI/CDStrong communication and collaboration skills with ability to influence across technical and business stakeholdersDemonstrated ownership, results orientation, and ability to lead through ambiguityPassion for mentoring, developing talent, and fostering innovation and continuous improvementThe TeamOur team partners closely with Product, Technology, and Workplace Investing Operations to deliver critical applications that power back-office processes.
