Drive Safety, Lead Logistics, and Keep Operations MovingA well-established industrial organization with complex logistics operations is seeking a seasoned Transportation & Safety Manager to lead transportation strategy and foster a safety-first culture across its facility. This direct-hire opportunity is ideal for a hands-on leader who thrives at the intersection of compliance, efficiency, and people leadership. Hours & PaySchedule: Monday-Friday | 8:00 AM - 5:00 PMSalary Range: $40,000 - $85,000 annually (based on experience)Employment Type: Direct Hire Daily Tasks & ResponsibilitiesOversee all inbound and outbound transportation activities to ensure the timely movement of raw materials and finished goodsManage carrier, freight broker, and logistics provider relationshipsMonitor transportation costs and implement efficiency and cost-reduction strategiesEnsure compliance with DOT, FMCSA, OSHA, and all applicable federal, state, and local regulationsPlan and manage routing, scheduling, and fleet utilizationDevelop, implement, and maintain comprehensive workplace safety programsConduct safety audits, inspections, and risk assessmentsInvestigate incidents and near-misses and implement corrective action plansProvide safety training and guidance to employees, contractors, and transportation personnelLead, mentor, and develop transportation and safety teamsCollaborate cross-functionally with operations, production, HR, and compliance teamsPrepare and present transportation and safety performance metrics to leadership Requirements & QualificationsBachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Occupational Safety, Industrial Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)5-7 years of experience in transportation management, logistics leadership, or industrial safetyStrong knowledge of DOT, FMCSA, OSHA, and safety compliance standardsProven experience leading and developing teamsStrong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skillsProficiency with transportation management systems (TMS), safety software, and Microsoft OfficeExperience in an industrial or manufacturing environment preferredSafety or compliance certifications (OSHA, DOT, CSP) a plusExcellent communication skills with the ability to influence and sustain a safety-oriented culture BenefitsThis direct-hire role offers a competitive and comprehensive benefits package designed to support employee health, stability, and long-term growth.
