As we continue to grow we are seeking a dynamic and experienced Sr. Mechanical Engineer - Data Center to join our team and drive our relationships with hyperscale clients to new heights.Sr. Mechanical Engineer - Data Center:The Sr. Mechanical Engineer is the foremost technical leader on HVAC and other fluid systems for their site. Sr. Mechanical Engineer serve as mentors to Critical Facility Engineers (CFE) in the field and the classroom. This is a hands-on role for a seasoned professional who is eager to share their knowledge. The ideal candidate for this role is dedicated to lifelong learning takes ownership of their work and exemplifies integrity in all that they do.To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each of the essential duties and responsibilities listed below with or without reasonable accommodation. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Optimize the reliability and performance of the mechanical systems within our data centers.Enhance the teams ability to operate maintain and repair mechanical systems.Oversee the preparation execution and quality control for all work on mechanical systems.Develop and maintain operating procedures (SOP/MOP/EOP).Lead the Root Cause Analysis (RCA) process for mechanical system events faults and issues.Manage the vendor relationships which provide support for our mechanical systems.Train CFEs on mechanical system fundamentals during their initial qualification process.Deliver formal classroom training on mechanical systems to the Data Center Operations team.Foster a collaborative team culture built on mutual respect and a shared mission to be the best data center operators in our industry.Minimum Qualifications:8 years of experience in a mechanical role in a mission critical environment.A relevant ABET-accredited bachelors degree in engineering or engineering technology may be substituted for up to 4 years of experience.Comprehensive experience performing mechanical operations maintenance troubleshooting and repairs.Ability to interpret schematics and technical drawings.Working knowledge of electrical controls and fire suppression/alarm systems associated with mission critical environments.Familiarity with brazing grinding and refrigerant work.Experience working in a highly collaborative multidisciplinary environment.Strong proficiency in the use of Microsoft Excel Outlook PowerPoint and Word.Willingness and desire to achieve all the preferred qualifications below and continue your own professional development. Physical Requirements:Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment up to 40lbs.Ability to climb ladders and multiple flights of stairs to access elevated equipmentAbility to stand for long periods of time in various work environmentsAbility to bend stoop kneel and reach for equipment related tasksBasic physical fitness to respond quickly to emergency situations and navigate areas quicklyAbility to move quickly and efficiently withing various work environments to troubleshoot issues or respond to emergencies.Good hand-eye coordination and dexterity for working with small components and connectorsClear vision with or without correction to perform tasks requiring attention to detail and precision while wearing safety glassesAbility to differentiate between color-coded warning signs labels and cablesAbility to work in environments with a wide variety temperature inside a facilityAbility to work outdoors in various weather conditions including extreme temperatures rain or snowCapability to work in environments with elevated noise levels while wearing hearing protectionPossession of a valid drivers license for work-related travel as requiredPreferred Qualifications:ABET-accredited bachelors degree in engineering or engineering technologyMaster HVAC licenseUniversal Section 608 Technician CertificationChiller CRAH RTU DOAS split system and diesel generator certifications issued by the OEMData Center Certified Associate (DCCA) or Certified Mission Critical Operator (CMCO)Familiarity with NFPA standardsFamiliarity with ASHRAE standardsFamiliarity with the International Mechanical CodeBackground in the data center industryIf you are a motivated and results-driven individual with a passion for data center services and a knack for building strong client relationships we want to hear from you.
